PITTORE CONTADINO
Cerasuolo di Vittoria classico D.O.C.G (Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin)
60% Nero D’Avola – 40% Frappato
This wine pays tribute to Sicilian artist Francesco Giombarresi, also known as “peasant artist”, who managed to portray colours and landscapes of the island along with its local people in his miniatures.
Nero d’Avola and Frappato wine grapes, which are used to produce Cerasuolo di Vittoria classico wine grow in sandy and calcareous soil at 250 meters above sea level. The name of this unique D.O.C.G wine derives from the word “cerasa”, which in Sicilian dialect means “cherry”. This wine is intense brownish red in colour and offers a bouquet with a distinct scent of red berries, a liquorice aftertaste and a slight note of chocolate. It’s a full-bodied red wine, which feels warm on the palate.
