Pittore Contadino, the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG by HORUS Winery

Pittore Contadino” is the name we wanted to give to our Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG as a tribute to Sicilian artist Francesco Giombarresi who managed to portray in his miniatures the same emotions that have always inspired visitors coming to Sicily entranced by the beauty of its nature.

50% Nero d’Avola and 50% Frappato grapes are used to produce this red wine, true expression of our territory, the only DOCG in Sicily, a stone’s throw from the sea.

Let’s try pouring it into a glass and tasting it together, perhaps while reading a good book or listening to swing music. The wine has a clean appearance and a great texture. The bouquet is rich in floral and fruity scents with a distinct hints of red berries, reminiscent of cherries (amarasca) and a distinctly mineral taste. Finally, a delicately spiced aroma can be perceived. On the palate, “Pittore Contadino” is dry, full-bodied, warm, and quite soft. Silky tannins accompany the sip with a remarkable long aromatic persistence. On the whole, it is a very balanced wine.

Pairing ideal with meat dishes or aged cheeses, as Ragusano DOP. You will be amazed!
